Where it came from
Abundant Growth was originally introduced in the 2012 Magic: The Gathering expansion Avacyn Restored. This specific version, designated as collector number 1135, was released as part of the Secret Lair Drop Series, a direct-to-consumer initiative by Wizards of the Coast that features limited-run, themed cards with specialized, often experimental artistic styles.
The art for this iteration features a distinct aesthetic departure from the standard set design, utilizing a stylized, decorative approach intended to emphasize the card's theme of nature and expansion. Like many pieces in the Secret Lair series, the design is geared toward collectors who appreciate unique visual interpretations of classic mechanics, and it was received by the community as a vibrant, collectible alternative to the card’s more traditional functional printings.
