Where it came from
Abundant Harvest was released in 2021 as part of the Strixhaven Mystical Archive, a specialized subset of 63 iconic instant and sorcery cards featured in the Strixhaven: School of Mages expansion for Magic: The Gathering. This specific card, numbered 48, was designed as a new addition to the game's library, marking a unique instance where a card debuted directly within the aesthetic framework of the archive rather than being a reprint of an existing effect.
The art for this edition was created by artist Alayna Danner. The illustration reflects the mystical and scholarly atmosphere of the set, utilizing the distinctive, ornate frame design consistent across the entire archive collection. The card was well-received by players for its efficient deck-filtering capability in green, and it quickly became a staple in various constructed formats, valued for its balance of utility and thematic integration into the wizard-themed setting.
