Adventurous Impulse

Adventurous Impulse was first introduced in the Dominaria set and later reprinted in Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, which showcased the wild, mutation-focused ecosystem of the titular plane. As a green common, it serves as a staple utility card designed to help players smooth out their resource development by searching the top of their library for creature or land cards. Its presence in Ikoria emphasizes the set's theme of finding resources and creatures in a harsh, untamed environment.

The artwork for this version was illustrated by Wisnu Tan, who captured the feeling of discovery and connection to nature central to the card's mechanical function. By focusing on the visual language of the Ikoria wilderness, the design reinforces the set's high-fantasy, monster-centric identity. The card has been well-regarded by players for its efficiency in Limited formats, providing a reliable way to fix mana or find key threats during the early game.
