Aether Snap

Aether Snap was originally printed as a rare card in the 2005 Magic: The Gathering expansion set Saviors of Kamigawa. The card, designed with a focus on the 'sweep' mechanic that forces players to return lands to their hand, reflects the set's thematic preoccupation with hand size and the spiritual themes of the Kamigawa plane. It was illustrated by the artist Matt Cavotta, who utilized a distinct, surreal style to capture the sudden, volatile release of mana energy that defines the spell's effect.

The card was later included in 'The List,' a rotating collection of past Magic: The Gathering cards that are inserted into Set Boosters as a way to reintroduce historical designs to modern players.
