What it does
When this creature enters, you may have it fight target creature you don't control. (Each deals damage equal to its power to the other.)
The problem isn't the indrik's enthusiasm, it's Ravnica's lack of guardrails.

Where it came from
The Affectionate Indrik card was introduced as part of the Ravnica: Clue Edition, a standalone board game product released by Wizards of the Coast in 2024. This set blended the mechanics of Magic: The Gathering with the thematic elements of the classic Clue mystery game, tasking players with solving a murder within the cityscape of Ravnica. The card retains the functional identity of the creature as it appeared in earlier Guilds of Ravnica expansions, serving as a tactical combat piece within the game's unique draft-and-solve format.
The illustration for the Affectionate Indrik, originally crafted by artist Slawomir Maniak, depicts the massive, beast-like nature of the Indrik creature common to the Selesnya Conclave. The design emphasizes the scale and protective temperament of the creature, intended to fit the lush, grounded aesthetic of Selesnya's guild. Upon its inclusion in the Clue Edition, the card was rebranded with the expansion's specific frame treatment, which was received by players as a functional crossover designed to integrate seamlessly into the high-stakes, investigative atmosphere of the Ravnica-themed mystery setting.
