Against All Odds // Against All Odds

Against All Odds is a card from the Art Series released as part of the Phyrexia: All Will Be One expansion for Magic: The Gathering in early 2023. These cards are distinct from standard gameplay cards, serving instead as dedicated showcases for the detailed digital illustrations commissioned for the set. They were included as randomized inserts in set booster packs, designed to highlight the high-fantasy aesthetic and the grim, biomechanical themes central to the plane of Phyrexia.

The artwork for this specific piece was rendered by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose work is well-regarded within the Magic community for its dramatic lighting and textured style. In the context of the set's narrative, the piece depicts a moment of desperate defiance against the overwhelming forces of Elesh Norn and her compleated legion. As an art card, it serves as a collectible print that captures the visual evolution of the Phyrexian invasion, intended primarily for fans who appreciate the lore and artistry behind the game's world-building.
