Glissa Sunslayer // Glissa Sunslayer

The Phyrexia: All Will Be One Art Series serves as a dedicated tribute to the illustrative talent behind the expansion set released by Wizards of the Coast in early 2023. These cards are designed as collector pieces, omitting traditional gameplay statistics to highlight the full-art illustrations produced for the set. This specific card showcases Glissa Sunslayer, a central character in the New Phyrexia narrative who serves as a Praetor-aligned warrior championing the mechanical corruption of her world.

The artwork was commissioned to capture the cold, biomechanical aesthetic synonymous with the Phyrexian faction. By stripping away the frame and text boxes found on standard game cards, the series allows the artist’s rendering of Glissa’s intricate metallic plating and lethal posture to stand as a singular visual composition. The release was well-received by those interested in the artistic development of Magic: The Gathering, providing a focused look at the dark, cohesive design language established for the Phyrexian setting.
