The set centered on a climactic battle between the multiverse-spanning tyrant Nicol Bolas and a coalition of Planeswalkers on the plane of Amonkhet. This card represents the militarized forces of Bolas, specifically the eternals—undead soldiers harvested from the plane’s local population—as they participate in the planar invasion.

The card’s artwork was illustrated by Viktor Titov, who leaned into the dark, mechanical aesthetic of the invading army.
