Akiri, Fearless Voyager // Akiri, Fearless Voyager

Akiri, Fearless Voyager was originally released as a legendary creature in the 2020 Magic: The Gathering set Zendikar Rising. This card represents a reimagining of the character Akiri, a kor line-slinger who became a fan favorite for her ability to command equipment-based strategies. The card was designed to highlight the high-adventure, exploration-focused themes of the Zendikar plane, emphasizing teamwork and the synergy between warriors and the gear they carry into the dangerous landscapes of the Hedron fields.

The Art Series version, collector number 74, specifically highlights the illustration by artist Kieran Yanner. Yanner opted for a dynamic, heroic composition that captures Akiri mid-maneuver, showcasing the aesthetic style that defines the modern Zendikar aesthetic. These Art Series cards were produced as collectible prints distributed in set boosters, intended to provide fans with a high-resolution, borderless look at the set's conceptual art without the game-text overlays found on standard tournament cards.
