What it does
If you would gain life, you gain twice that much life instead.

Where it came from
Alhammarret's Archive was originally introduced in the 2015 Magic: The Gathering set Magic Origins, representing a powerful library of knowledge from the history of the sphinx Alhammarret. The card was designed as a rare artifact that doubles the player's healing and card-drawing capabilities, reflecting the character's role as a mentor and keeper of secrets. Its inclusion in the Star Trek Commander set, released as part of a crossover promotion, retains the mechanical identity of the original design while integrating it into the thematic context of intellectual archival.
The visual design features the imposing figure of the sphinx, an illustration by Chase Stone that emphasizes the scale and ancient nature of the repository. Within the game, the card is frequently cited by players for its significant impact on resource advantage, making it a sought-after staple in Commander decks. The adaptation for the Star Trek-themed release maintains this aesthetic, blending the classic fantasy art style with the expanded visual lexicon of the collaborative set.
