Where it came from
Armory Paladin was released in 2024 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Fallout set, a collaborative expansion designed to integrate the post-apocalyptic themes of the video game franchise into the tabletop card game. The card draws inspiration from the iconic Brotherhood of Steel, a militaristic faction obsessed with preserving technology, and it captures the flavor of their heavy combat armor and reliance on energy weaponry within the game's strategic mechanics.
The artwork for the card features the distinct aesthetic of the Brotherhood's power armor, rendered in the gritty, detailed style characteristic of the set's creative direction. It was received by players as a functional utility card within the set’s specialized commander decks, specifically designed to support Equipment-themed strategies by helping players manage their resources and weaponry effectively during gameplay.
