Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain // Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain

Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain was released as part of the Modern Horizons 3 Art Series in 2024. This subset of cards highlights the intricate illustration work featured throughout the set, providing collectors with high-quality, borderless prints of the game’s core character art. The series serves as a tribute to the artists commissioned by Wizards of the Coast, emphasizing the visual storytelling that anchors the Magic: The Gathering card game.

The character design for Arna Kennerüd was crafted by artist Lie Setiawan. The illustration emphasizes the character's role as a skycaptain, blending functional fantasy aesthetics with a sense of authority and movement. By removing the traditional gameplay text and borders, the art series allows the viewer to focus entirely on the painterly details and environmental atmosphere established by the illustrator during the conceptualization phase of the Modern Horizons 3 expansion.
