Stump Stomp // Stump Stomp

Stump Stomp is part of the Modern Horizons 3 Art Series, a specialized subset of the 2024 Modern Horizons 3 expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These cards function as high-quality, frame-less art prints designed for collectors who appreciate the visual narrative behind individual cards. They serve to highlight the atmospheric world-building that defines the modern era of the game, stripping away the traditional card text to let the composition stand on its own.

The artwork was created by illustrator Zezhou Chen, who sought to capture the visceral and grounding nature of the card's theme. The design emphasizes the raw, primal energy of the setting, utilizing color and texture to evoke a sense of weight and motion. Within the community, these cards are valued as artistic artifacts that preserve the craft of the illustrators commissioned by Wizards of the Coast, providing a focused perspective on the game's aesthetic evolution.
