What it does
Flying, vigilance, haste
Whenever Aurelia attacks for the first time each turn, untap all creatures you control. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase.
Where Razia was aloof and untouchable, Aurelia is on the frontlines, calling for war.

Where it came from
Aurelia, the Warleader was first introduced in the 2013 Magic: The Gathering set Gatecrash, serving as the guildmaster of the Boros Legion. This specific version was released as part of the From the Vault: Angels collection, a premium boxed set designed to celebrate the most iconic and powerful angelic creatures across the game's history. The selection for this set emphasized high-impact, mythic rare cards that defined the archetypal celestial warrior role in gameplay.
The art for this iteration maintains the original visual identity established by illustrator Johannes Voss. Voss sought to capture the essence of a tactical military commander, blending the regal, winged aesthetic of an angel with the disciplined, martial iconography of the Boros guild. The card was well-received by players for its aggressive mechanics and its status as a quintessential commander in the Magic: The Gathering Commander format, serving as a staple centerpiece for red-white combat strategies.
