What it does
Whenever a creature deals damage to you, put a gold counter on it.
Each creature with a gold counter on it is a Wall in addition to its other creature types and has defender. (Those creatures can't attack.)
When this enchantment leaves the battlefield, remove all gold counters from all creatures.

Where it came from
Aurification was released in 2002 as part of the Onslaught expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, the Onslaught set returned the game's focus to creature-based themes and tribal synergies, marking a shift in the mechanical identity of the game during the early 2000s.
The card features artwork by Greg Staples, who contributed extensively to the game during this era. His design for Aurification captures the transformative, alchemical theme of the enchantment, visually depicting the act of turning creatures into gold through a dark, painterly aesthetic that was characteristic of the set's high-fantasy art direction.
