What it does
When Azog enters, destroy up to one other target creature. Its controller amasses Goblins X, where X is that creature's power. If you controlled that creature, draw a card. (To amass Goblins X, that player puts X +1/+1 counters on an Army they control. It's also a Goblin. If they don't control an Army, they create a 0/0 black Goblin Army creature token first.)

Where it came from
Azog, Moria's Ruin, identified as collector number 222, is part of the trading card set based on The Hobbit film trilogy. These cards were produced to accompany the theatrical releases, capturing key characters from J.R.R. Tolkien’s expanded lore as reimagined by director Peter Jackson. The set reflects the detailed aesthetic of the films, prioritizing high-fidelity stills and character profiles to appeal to both fans of the cinematic adaptation and tabletop gaming enthusiasts.
The character design for this card draws directly from the 2012–2014 film interpretation of Azog the Defiler. Known as the Pale Orc, the character was heavily reliant on motion-capture technology and digital artistry to distinguish him from traditional creature designs. The card itself utilizes this visual data to present an imposing portrait of the character, serving as a standard piece of merchandise that documents the visual identity of the Middle-earth film cycle.
