Barbed Sliver

Barbed Sliver first appeared in the Legions expansion of Magic: The Gathering in 2003, representing the hive-mind evolutionary nature of the creature type. The design focused on the mechanical theme of shared abilities, specifically granting all Slivers on the battlefield the ability to deal damage to creatures they block or are blocked by. As a member of the Sliver lineage, it embodies the biological adaptability that defines the species in the game's lore, reflecting the art direction of creature design that emphasizes segmented, insectoid features.

The version included in the Premium Deck Series: Slivers, released in 2009, features a specialized foiling process distinct from standard sets. This deck was curated as a retrospective showcase of the most impactful Sliver cards, designed to provide players with a cohesive, ready-to-play strategy.
