Battleflight Eagle

Battleflight Eagle was released in 2012 as part of the Magic 2013 core set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, this core set was designed to serve as a foundational experience for both new and returning players, balancing accessible gameplay mechanics with thematic consistency. Within the set, the card was positioned as a common-rarity white creature, intended primarily to provide tactical support and board presence in Limited formats like Draft or Sealed deck.

The illustration for the card was created by artist Christopher Moeller, who captured the creature in a dynamic, mid-flight pose to emphasize its role as an aerial threat. His design approach focused on clarity and aesthetic coherence within the high-fantasy visual language established for the game. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional, utility-focused piece, appreciated by players for its ability to grant a temporary power boost to other creatures, reinforcing the strategic importance of white-aligned flying units in the game's broader meta.
