Where it came from
Bombard was released as part of the Edge of Eternities expansion, a set centered on the high-fantasy themes of temporal instability and strategic attrition. Designed to function as a powerful red-aligned removal spell, the card was crafted to reward players for managing their hand size, reflecting the game's broader mechanical shift toward resource efficiency during that era of development.
The artwork, executed by a contract illustrator for the franchise, features a stylized siege engine discharging raw elemental energy. Upon its debut, the card was received by the competitive community as a reliable, mid-tier utility piece, praised for its straightforward design and versatility within limited play formats, where it quickly became a staple for players navigating the complexities of the set's meta-game.
