Burning Palm Efreet

Burning Palm Efreet was originally released in the 1996 Mirage expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Designed as part of the game's shift toward more complex mechanics during the mid-nineties, the card represents the elemental themes of the Mirage block, which drew inspiration from diverse global mythologies. It was illustrated by Anson Maddocks, a foundational artist for the game whose stylized, often surreal character work helped define the aesthetic of Magic's early years.

The card was later included in 'The List', a rotating selection of reprints curated by Wizards of the Coast to appear in Set Boosters starting in 2020.
