Canopy Gorger

Canopy Gorger was released in 2016 as part of the Oath of the Gatewatch expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Set on the plane of Zendikar, the expansion focuses on the global struggle against the reality-warping Eldrazi titans. As a common green creature, the card was designed primarily to bolster the Limited format environment, providing a standard, high-toughness body that players could utilize to stabilize their boards during the mid-to-late stages of a draft or sealed deck game.

The card’s illustration was created by artist Mathias Kollros, who has contributed numerous pieces to the game’s fantasy aesthetic.
