Chandra's Pyreling

Chandra's Pyreling was released as part of the Jumpstart 2022 set, a product designed specifically to facilitate a fast, intuitive drafting experience by allowing players to combine two pre-constructed packs into a functional deck. Within the lore of Magic: The Gathering, the card represents an elemental creature associated with Chandra Nalaar, a prominent pyromancer and planeswalker. The design emphasizes the character's thematic focus on fire and aggression, utilizing mechanics that grow more powerful as the player casts additional red spells.

The artwork for the card was illustrated by Wisnu Tan, who captured the chaotic, ephemeral nature of fire elementals. By featuring Chandra's motif, the card serves as a thematic bridge between the game's broader narrative and the accessible, pick-up-and-play nature of the Jumpstart series. It was received by the player base as a solid, flavorful inclusion for red-aligned decks within the set's randomized format.
