Change of Plans // Change of Plans

Change of Plans originates from the New Capenna Art Series, a specialized sub-set released by Wizards of the Coast alongside the Streets of New Capenna expansion in 2022. This series was designed to showcase the work of individual artists by featuring full-art illustrations without the traditional game text overlays, emphasizing the Art Deco and film noir aesthetic that defined the set's high-society, crime-syndicate-themed world.

The illustration for this specific card, number 52 in the series, was created by artist Titus Lunter. Lunter’s design reflects the opulent, urban decadence of the plane of New Capenna, utilizing rich colors and sharp lines to convey a sense of shifting loyalties and complex narratives. Within the broader community of Magic: The Gathering players and collectors, these cards are held in high regard for their role as standalone art pieces that celebrate the collaborative visual storytelling inherent in the game's development.
