Where it came from
Chart a Course was originally released in the 2017 Magic: The Gathering set Ixalan. Designed by Wizards of the Coast, the card is a blue sorcery that allows a player to draw two cards if they have attacked with a creature that turn, or otherwise discard a card. It was conceived as a thematic tool for the aggressive, creature-heavy playstyles emphasized in the pirate-themed Ixalan block.
The artwork for this iteration was illustrated by Johannes Voss.
