Provenance

Where it came from

Dimir Infiltrator was originally released in the 2005 Ravnica: City of Guilds set as an uncommon creature representing the Dimir, one of the ten iconic guilds of the plane of Ravnica. Designed by the Magic: The Gathering development team to highlight the guild's focus on information brokerage and stealth, the card features a transmutable ability that allows players to tutor for other two-mana cards, making it a functional cornerstone in various constructed formats.

The artwork for the card was created by Zoltan Boros and Gabor Szikszai, who captured the shadowy, cloaked aesthetic synonymous with the Dimir identity. The card was later featured in The List, a curated selection of reprints inserted into Set Boosters, which served to increase the availability of older, mechanically significant cards for newer players and formats like Pauper, where its defensive utility and search capability remain highly regarded.
