Where it came from
Coming Attraction was released in 2022 as part of the Unfinity expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As a product within the 'Un-' series, the card was designed to push the boundaries of traditional game mechanics, featuring a humorous, meta-fictional approach that pokes fun at the common anticipation players feel when waiting for a powerful card to be drawn or revealed.
The card’s illustration was crafted by artist Nino Vecia, who utilized a vivid, retro-futuristic aesthetic to capture the excitement of a theatrical preview. The design reflects the set's space-carnival theme, blending whimsy with functional card design in a way that resonated with players who appreciate the more lighthearted, experimental side of Magic’s history.
