Where it came from
Consult the Star Charts was released as a promotional card for the Edge of Eternities expansion, distributed through organized play events and tournament support kits. Designed to anchor the set's cosmic theme, it served as a utility piece intended to represent the thematic gathering of celestial information. The card was crafted to fit seamlessly into decks focusing on strategic planning and foresight, reflecting the broader narrative of travelers navigating a shifting, infinite expanse.
The artwork was commissioned to emphasize the ethereal, grand-scale aesthetic prevalent throughout the Edge of Eternities series. By utilizing a minimalist but intricate visual language, the illustrator aimed to evoke a sense of ancient wisdom and cosmic mystery. Upon release, the card was well-received by players for its balance of thematic flavor and functional utility, securing its place as a recognizable staple of the promotion's overall design identity.
