What it does
Consuming Aberration's power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in your opponents' graveyards.
Whenever you cast a spell, each opponent reveals cards from the top of their library until they reveal a land card, then puts those cards into their graveyard.

Where it came from
Consuming Aberration first appeared in the Gatecrash expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2013, representing the Dimir guild's synergy between milling and size-based scaling. This particular printing hails from the 2016 Commander product, specifically appearing as card 189 in the 'Breed Lethality' deck. The reprint was selected to provide players with a high-impact creature that scales in power based on the collective graveyard depth of all opponents, fitting perfectly into the deck's +1/+1 counter theme.
The card features artwork by Karl Kopinski, who depicted the creature as a chaotic, multi-limbed nightmare reflecting the horror aesthetic of the Ravnica plane. Kopinski’s design emphasizes the entity's overwhelming scale and unsettling anatomy, which earned praise from players for its vivid, visceral quality. Within the Commander format, the card is widely regarded as a signature threat for decks focused on graveyard interaction and self-mill strategies, cementing its status as a staple in Dimir-aligned color identities.
