Copy Land

Copy Land was released in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set, a collection specifically designed to integrate high-power, modern-inflected cards into the Commander format. As a card that replicates the function of a basic land while providing utility through its land-copying ability, it fits into a lineage of utility lands that prioritize board state flexibility over traditional resource generation. The card serves as a tactical tool for players looking to adapt to the shifting landscape of multiplayer games, where replicating an opponent's strong utility land can swing the momentum of a match.

The visual design of Copy Land reflects the sleek, ethereal aesthetic typical of the Modern Horizons series, focusing on a sense of magical duplication. The illustration emphasizes the fluid, reflective nature of the terrain, aiming to convey the card's mechanical identity through its imagery. While the card is a recent addition to the expansive Magic: The Gathering library, it was met with interest from deck-builders who value versatility and land-based interaction, quickly finding its place in various high-synergy deck builds.
