Corpse Cobble

Corpse Cobble was released as part of the Innistrad: Double Feature set in 2022. This unique set was designed as a curated, monochromatic draft experience that combined cards from the two preceding sets, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Innistrad: Crimson Vow. The overarching design language of the set featured a distinct silver-screen aesthetic, intended to evoke the classic atmosphere of mid-century horror cinema through high-contrast, black-and-white art treatments.

The original illustration for this card was created by artist Ravenna Tran, who brought a sense of visceral, mechanical reanimation to the piece. As an uncommon instant within the block, the card reflects the set’s mechanical focus on graveyard recursion and creature synthesis. While Double Feature itself was met with mixed reactions due to its limited availability and specific visual style, the artwork has been noted by players for its effective capture of the gothic, macabre tone central to the plane of Innistrad.
