Creature Bond

Creature Bond was originally illustrated by Dameon Willich and first appeared in the Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering in 1993, later being reprinted in the Revised Edition in 1994. As a common green enchantment, it reflects the early design philosophy of the game, which leaned heavily into simple mechanical interactions that punished the opponent's creatures. Its aesthetic is characteristic of the hand-painted, somewhat whimsical fantasy style prevalent in the game's earliest years.

The Revised Edition, or Third Edition, served as the primary printing for the game during its rapid expansion in the mid-nineties. It features the distinctive, slightly washed-out color palette and the updated border styling that defined the era of collectible card games before the standardization of more modern digital illustration processes. While not a centerpiece card, it remains a nostalgic artifact for collectors interested in the foundational mechanics and visual history of the game.
