What it does
Attacking Vampires you control have deathtouch and lifelink. (Any amount of damage they deal to a creature is enough to destroy it. Damage dealt by those creatures also causes their controller to gain that much life.)
Whenever a Vampire you control dies, you may pay 2 life. If you do, draw a card.

Where it came from
Crossway Troublemakers was released in 2021 as part of the Innistrad: Crimson Vow Commander set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It was designed to support the set's gothic horror aesthetic, specifically drawing from the tropes of vampire weddings and provincial life on the plane of Innistrad. The card functions as a red-aligned creature that utilizes the set's unique mechanics to create aggressive board states, reflecting the chaotic nature of the troublemakers depicted in the art.
The illustration was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose work frequently appears in Magic: The Gathering sets. In designing this piece, the focus was on capturing a sense of kinetic, rustic agitation that contrasts with the aristocratic elegance found elsewhere in the Crimson Vow expansion. Upon release, the card was received as a functional, niche inclusion for red-heavy decks focused on creature-based combat strategies, fitting seamlessly into the broader design philosophy of the set's preconstructed decks.
