Where it came from
Curator of Destinies is a card released in the 2024 Magic: The Gathering set titled Foundations. This set was designed specifically as an entry point for new players and a celebration of the game's core mechanics, intended to remain legal in Standard play for several years. It serves as a foundational piece, grounding the current era of the game in traditional themes while offering updated mechanics for contemporary competitive play.
The card features artwork by artist Jason A. Engle, who has contributed extensively to the Magic: The Gathering aesthetic. The design focuses on the theme of fate and library manipulation, reflecting the card's ability to scry and manage top-deck resources. As a rare card within the Foundations set, it was received by the community as a versatile utility piece for blue-aligned decks, praised for its clarity in design and thematic coherence within the broader lore of the multiverse.
