Where it came from
Cynette, Jelly Drover was introduced as part of the Foundations Jumpstart set, a release designed by Wizards of the Coast to act as an accessible entry point for new Magic: The Gathering players. The set focuses on evergreen mechanics and simplified card designs, aiming to provide a consistent gameplay experience that bridges the gap between casual kitchen-table play and structured organized events.
The card features an illustrative style consistent with the whimsical, high-fantasy aesthetic of the core set. Designed to highlight creature-type synergies, the character of Cynette was conceptualized to offer a distinct, approachable presence on the battlefield. It has been received by the player community as a staple of the jumpstart format, valued primarily for its functional role in establishing deck archetypes for beginners.
