What it does
Flying
Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles cards from the top of their library until they exile an instant or sorcery card. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Then that player puts the exiled cards that weren't cast this way on the bottom of their library in a random order.

Where it came from
The Dazzling Sphinx was released in 2024 as part of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction Commander set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It was designed to function within the game's mechanics of 'committing crimes,' a thematic keyword introduced in this expansion that plays on the set's western-inspired, outlaw-focused narrative. The card serves as a high-value flying creature that rewards players for interacting with their opponents' resources.
The card features artwork by illustrator Johannes Voss, who utilized a vibrant, light-infused style to capture the mystical nature of the Sphinx. Voss has become a prolific contributor to the game's visual identity, often focusing on ethereal lighting and magical effects. Within the community, the card is recognized for its combination of competitive utility and its aesthetic contribution to the desert-frontier theme of the Thunder Junction plane.
