What it does
Until end of turn, outlaw creatures you control get +1/+0 and gain "tap: This creature deals damage equal to its power to target creature." (Assassins, Mercenaries, Pirates, Rogues, and Warlocks are outlaws.)
Daniel's mistake wasn't just coming alone. It was believing his rival had done the same.

Where it came from
Dead Before Sunrise is a card released in 2024 as part of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction Commander set. The set draws inspiration from western-themed tropes, blending traditional fantasy elements with frontier outlaw aesthetics. Mechanically, the card functions within the color identity of black, reflecting the darker, transactional nature of the set's narrative themes.
The card features artwork by artist Jason A. Engle. His contribution captures the gritty atmosphere of the Thunder Junction plane, emphasizing the somber and inevitable nature of the card's namesake. The design aesthetic aligns with the wider visual identity of the expansion, which focuses on stylized villainy and high-stakes supernatural encounters in a lawless desert landscape.
