What it does
Whenever one or more Demons you control attack a player, you draw a card and lose 1 life.
At the beginning of your end step, create a 5/5 black Demon creature token with flying, then mill two cards. If two cards that share all their card types were milled this way, sacrifice this enchantment.

Where it came from
Demonic Covenant was released in 2024 as part of the Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander set, a collection themed around 1980s horror tropes and haunted house aesthetics. The card represents the set's focus on dark, atmospheric storytelling, drawing inspiration from classic supernatural thrillers and occult motifs common in the era's cinema.
The design of the card serves the mechanics of the Commander format, which prioritizes complex, interactive gameplay. It reflects the collaborative effort of Wizards of the Coast's design team to create high-impact, thematic cards that resonate with players interested in horror-centric decks. Upon its release, it was noted for its utility in black-aligned strategies, effectively contributing to the set's goal of balancing nostalgic horror flavor with modern mechanical depth.
