What it does
Whenever one or more Demons you control attack a player, you draw a card and lose 1 life.
At the beginning of your end step, create a 5/5 black Demon creature token with flying, then mill two cards. If two cards that share all their card types were milled this way, sacrifice this enchantment.

Where it came from
Demonic Covenant was released in 2024 as part of the Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander set. This set draws heavy inspiration from 1980s and 1990s horror aesthetics, centered around a house that spans multiple planes and manifests the fears of its inhabitants. The card itself reflects the dark, atmospheric nature of the set, emphasizing themes of pacts, sacrifice, and the classic horror trope of trading one's soul or vitality for temporal power.
The card was designed to support the specific mechanical identities found within the Duskmourn Commander decks, which often focus on enchantment synergies and aggressive resource management. As a rare enchantment, it serves as a centerpiece for players looking to accrue value through graveyard interaction and card draw, maintaining the high-stakes, high-reward design philosophy prevalent in modern Magic: The Gathering card development.
