Demon's Horn

The Demon's Horn was introduced as part of the Magic 2012 core set, released by Wizards of the Coast in July 2011. It belongs to a long-standing cycle of cycle-based artifacts known as the 'Lucky Charms,' which have appeared in various iterations throughout the history of Magic: The Gathering to reward players for casting spells of a specific color. This particular version was designed to support the black mana color identity, providing minor lifegain benefits whenever a player casts a black spell.

The card features illustration by Igor Kieryluk, who depicted the horn with a dark, ornate aesthetic fitting the thematic requirements of black-aligned cards in the game. Upon its release, the card was primarily utilized as a common-rarity utility piece for limited formats or introductory deck-building. It is widely viewed by the player community as a staple of the core set experience rather than a competitively powerful card, serving as an accessible tool for newer players to understand the mechanics of life-gain synergy.
