What it does
At the beginning of combat on your turn, populate. The token created this way gains haste. Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step. (To populate, create a token that's a copy of a creature token you control.)

Where it came from
Determined Iteration was released in 2021 as part of the Prismari Performance Commander deck for the Magic: The Gathering set Strixhaven: School of Mages. The card functions as a sorcery that creates a token copy of a target creature you control, with an additional flashback cost that allows it to be cast again from the graveyard. It was designed to synergize with the Prismari college's mechanical theme of spell-copying and high-impact sorcery and instant interactions.
The artwork was illustrated by Magali Villeneuve, a prominent figure in fantasy art who has contributed extensively to the visual identity of the game. Her design utilizes the vibrant, chaotic aesthetic associated with the Prismari guild, emphasizing the fluid and explosive nature of creative magic. Upon its release, the card was received favorably by the Commander community for its utility in decks focused on creature-based enter-the-battlefield effects and token generation.
