Where it came from
Determined Iteration was released as part of the New Capenna Commander set in 2022. It serves as a mechanical support card for token-based strategies, thematic to the set's focus on the diverse criminal syndicates of the metropolis of New Capenna. The card was designed to facilitate board state expansion, allowing players to copy their existing token creatures to gain a tactical advantage in multiplayer games.
The illustration was rendered by artist Jason Rainville, who captured the sleek, Art Deco-inspired aesthetic central to the plane of New Capenna. The visual style emphasizes the corruption and opulence of the city, utilizing sharp lines and a high-contrast palette to distinguish the card within the commander product line. Upon its release, it was noted by players for its synergy with permanent-focused token strategies.
