Diabolical Salvation

Diabolical Salvation is part of the 2017 Heroes of the Realm set, a unique series of Magic: The Gathering cards commissioned by Wizards of the Coast. These cards were not released in traditional booster packs or retail sets but were instead created as exclusive rewards for employees who contributed significantly to the company's development cycles. This specific initiative was designed to recognize internal team milestones, with the cards featuring distinct, non-tournament-legal frames and custom illustrations that celebrate the lore and collaborative spirit of the game design process.

The art and design of the Heroes of the Realm cards often feature inside jokes, references to office culture, or creative departures from the standard fantasy aesthetic of the game. For Diabolical Salvation, the design aesthetic maintains the polished, high-fantasy style typical of the franchise while signaling its status as an internal rarity. Because these items are limited to the staff who worked on them, they have become highly sought after by collectors as artifacts representing the internal history and creative community within Wizards of the Coast.
