Where it came from
Distract the Guards is a card featured in the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed set, released in 2024. The card was designed to mechanically represent the signature stealth and diversion tactics central to the Assassin's Creed video game franchise, allowing players to create openings by temporarily neutralizing potential threats on the battlefield.
The card art depicts the classic aesthetic associated with the Brotherhood, emphasizing the fluid motion and hooded silhouettes that define the series' visual identity. It serves as a narrative bridge, translating the core gameplay loops of Ubisoft's stealth-action titles into the strategic framework of a tabletop card game, garnering interest from both long-time players of the card game and fans of the gaming series for its thematic accuracy.
