Card face

What it does

When Dogmeat enters, mill five cards, then return an Aura or Equipment card from your graveyard to your hand.

Whenever a creature you control that's enchanted or equipped attacks, create a Junk token. (It's an artifact with "tap, Sacrifice this token: Exile the top card of your library. You may play that card this turn. Activate only as a sorcery.")

Provenance

Where it came from

Dogmeat, Ever Loyal was released in 2024 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Fallout Commander set. This collaborative collection was designed to translate the post-apocalyptic aesthetic and mechanics of the Fallout video game franchise into the tabletop card game format, with this specific card highlighting the iconic canine companion that has appeared across multiple entries in the series.

The artwork for the card was created by artist Bellisimart, who aimed to capture the bond between the player character and their loyal dog in a wasteland environment. Upon release, the card was well-received by both Magic players and Fallout fans, specifically for its thematic abilities that allow the card to function as a powerful asset for decks focused on the Scrappy Survivors archetype.
