Where it came from
Domri, Chaos Bringer was released as part of the Guilds of Ravnica Mythic Edition in 2018, a premium set curated to celebrate Wizards of the Coast's most iconic planeswalker characters. This specific iteration, marked as collector number RA7, features a unique borderless aesthetic and heightened foil treatment distinct from the standard card stock found in traditional boosters. The design was intended to offer collectors a visually striking, high-rarity variant that serves as a centerpiece for specialized displays.
The character of Domri Rade was illustrated by Magali Villeneuve for this edition, focusing on his impulsive and rebellious nature within the Gruul Clans. Villeneuve employed a dynamic composition to emphasize Domri’s chaotic energy, fitting the lore of the character’s volatile relationship with the city-plane of Ravnica. Upon its release, the card was widely received by players and collectors as a desirable aesthetic upgrade, further cementing the Mythic Edition series as a pivotal moment for serialized premium cards in the game's history.
