Dreamtide Whale // Dreamtide Whale

The Dreamtide Whale art card is part of the Modern Horizons 3 Art Series, a curated collection released by Wizards of the Coast in 2024 to celebrate the visual storytelling of the Magic: The Gathering expansion set. These cards were distributed as high-quality, frame-less inserts in collector booster packs, designed to highlight the intricate digital illustrations that serve as the foundation for the game's creature and spell designs.

The illustration for the Dreamtide Whale was created by artist Livia Prima, who utilized a ethereal, fluid aesthetic to evoke the creature's connection to the mystical realms within the game's lore. The design emphasizes a sense of scale and otherworldly movement, consistent with the set's focus on powerful, high-concept elemental beings. Collectors prize these cards for their focus on the artist's unadorned vision, free from the traditional text boxes and borders found on standard playing cards.
