Provenance

Where it came from

The Drone token was released in 2023 as part of the Phyrexia: All Will Be One set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It was designed to represent a specific creature type created by certain cards within the set, such as the planeswalker Kaya, Intangible Slayer, which produces these tokens to aid in gameplay. The token serves as a functional game piece, ensuring players can accurately track the board state during competitive or casual matches.

The visual design of the Drone token aligns with the biomechanical horror aesthetic of the New Phyrexia plane. Its art reflects the set's central theme of body horror and metallic assimilation, featuring the distinct visual language established by Wizards of the Coast's art team for the Phyrexian faction. These tokens are widely recognized by players for their integration into the set's unique drafting environment and their contribution to the cohesive atmosphere of the Phyrexian expansion.
