Where it came from
The Ellie and Alan, Paleontologists card, numbered 35 in the Jurassic World Collection, serves as a commemorative tribute to the foundational characters of the franchise. It was produced to honor the legacy of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, whose introduction in the 1993 original film established the archetypal portrayal of paleontologists in popular culture. The design leans into a nostalgic aesthetic, utilizing character stills that evoke the tension and scientific wonder of their initial discovery of living dinosaurs.
The artwork and layout were crafted to appeal to long-time fans who value the intellectual and adventurous spirit of the series' human leads. By pairing the two characters together on a single card, the collection emphasizes their partnership and the contrast between their fields of expertise. Upon release, the set was received as a bridge between the classic era of the franchise and the newer iterations, finding favor with collectors who prioritize character-driven memorabilia over purely creature-focused merchandise.
