Evendo, Waking Haven

Evendo, Waking Haven, marked as card 253 in the Edge of Eternities set, emerged as part of a TCG expansion cycle focused on metaphysical landscapes and dream-state mechanics. The card was designed to anchor the set's central theme of transition, representing a threshold between distinct game states. It was crafted during a period when the design team shifted toward more abstract, ethereal art directions to differentiate the expansion from the more literal, combat-heavy sets that preceded it.

The illustration was commissioned to emphasize a sense of quiet suspension rather than action. It features a muted, pastel color palette intended to evoke the feeling of early morning stillness. Upon release, players noted the card for its unconventional visual identity, which stood in stark contrast to the aggressive character designs typical of the game's broader competitive meta. It remains a notable example of the game's willingness to experiment with atmospheric storytelling through static, non-combat focused card types.
