Evendo, Waking Haven

Evendo, Waking Haven, numbered 279 in the Edge of Eternities set, represents a pivotal expansion in the game's broader narrative arc. Designed to introduce new mechanics surrounding graveyard interaction and board state stability, the card was conceptualized by the game's central creative team to offer players a more resilient late-game option. It arrived during a period when the developers were shifting focus toward more complex, multi-layered strategic play, aiming to reward those who prioritized resource management over rapid deployment.

The visual identity of the card was rendered by the lead studio illustrators, who sought to capture the ethereal, melancholic aesthetic central to the Edge of Eternities theme. By utilizing a muted color palette and soft, sweeping brushwork, the design conveys a sense of stillness that mirrors the card's function as a defensive anchor. Upon its release, it was well-received by the competitive community for its nuanced role in stabilizing matches, effectively balancing the aggressive pace of the set with a necessary period of tactical reflection.
